Henrich Rubber Company
started selling rubber bands for the bundling of wood
moulding in 1989. Since wood moulding bundles can be up to 16
feet in length, we had to develop a very strong band that could
hold lumber together for at least one year.
The next
challenge we faced was the need for a rubber band application
machine capable of applying at least 10 bands per minute. This
equipment was also developed and put into operation. The moulding
companies required the assurance that the Henrich rubber band
would not leave any chemical residue or band color on the wood
which could prevent the wood from being painted or stained.
As a result, we spent the necessary funds in research and development
to create just the right formula specifically for this application.
For over 15 years this formula has provided rubber bands that
have never stained the wood they bundled and have held for one
full year.
In 1996, we introduced the Hinge Bumper. These bands are specifically designed to protect pre-hung wooden doors from hinge damage during shipment.
